OG Kush (Mystery Genetics)

Sativa Dominant Hybrid
Cool Calm Collective
Price: $60 per 1/8th

AROMA:  This has a pungent lemon diesel fuel scent with a deep earthy pine aroma.  It has a very classic OG kush scent to it, as it should since it is OG Kush.  The stench from the strain becomes extremely apparent after a nug is ground up, and has an interestingly spicey undertone.  It's a great smelling example of OG Kush, and definitely true to its label.

TASTE:  There is very thick and flavorful smoke to this, even after the first hit.  It's a little more dull than I was expecting, but it definitely has a great lemon diesel fuel flavor.  The pine disappears from the flavor, but settles a little bit in the nostrils.  I think I was expecting more from the flavor due to the smell, but don't get me wrong it's still a great taste.  It has that classic OG burn in the sinuses, and made my eyes get a little misty.

LOOK:  Extremely plump nugs that have a good density, and wasn't too dense at all.  The nugs are huge... My 3.7 gram 1/8th was one nug, and photographed beautifully.  The light green nugs are surrounded by twisting orange hairs that accent the trichomes.  Extremely cloudy trichomes with bulbous caps, the nug shimmers at certain angles of light.  The manicure job is also done well, not overly meticulous, and gives my nug a great look.

EFFECTS:  This is a fast hitting, head heavy, sativa dominant OG cut that puts almost instantaneous pressure on the eyes.  It's an eye opening, head clearing, pleasant feeling pressure on the eyes.  It's a heavy sativa OG cut, and reminds me of G's 100% sativa cut from the legendary Suite 215 back in the day.  Anyone that knows G's cut knows that this is a great compliment to give, and in all honesty I waited to medicate with this twice before I wrote this review.  I stand by my comparison, so if you doubt it go try it out.

As for the genetics... I'm not going to touch them with a 10' pole.  OG Kush's origins are as mysterious as it is potent, so I'm going to leave it as is.  Cool Calm Collective gave me this 1/8th for free.  I didn't have to buy anything (though I did).  It's not because I write for this blog, and it's not because I take these pictures.  It's because that's their first time patient deal.  As you can see for yourself this isn't a gimmick since the price is $60 per 1/8th.  I sat and chat with the manager for quite a long time, and he seems to be genuinely about compassion.  The price is a little high on after the first time, but they do amazing specials every day (especially Friday).  Great example of an OG from a collective that is setting an example with compassion.  Hopefully their cap comes down to at least $50... If that happens, they'll be unstoppable.
