AROMA: Classic Bubba Kush scent to this batch. Coffee coupled with a sweet aroma that has an earthiness to it. It is pungent both from the container and after being ground up, but especially after being ground up. Anyone who is a fan of Bubba Kush will enjoy taking long whiffs of this. Great smelling example of Pre '98 Bubba Kush.
TASTE: The earthy, soil-like, flavor takes over on the tongue, but there is still a hint of sweet coffee that lingers on the tongue. It has the soothing kush burn in the sinuses, and a great Bubba Kush aftertaste. The strain smokes very well, so there is full flavor from the get go. Great tasting Bubba for sure.
LOOK: CLASSIC Pre '98 Bubba Kush look, as this looks like it is straight out of a book, with the classic pre '98 nug structure. This batch's nugs are larger, and denser than I've seen, with the classic leafiness. The manicure could have been done a bit better, but this strain is a pain to trim so I understand. The trichomes surround the entire nug, and a good amount are opaque. There are purple streaking through the calyxes and sugar leaves, and the dark orange hairs only accentuate the look. It's a great looking Pre '98 Bubba for sure.
EFFECTS: This has a very quick onset that causes the head to get flush, and settles behind the eyes. The body high puts one into an extremely relaxed state, and is also a very clean high. It is definitely on the heavy side, especially for a Pre '98, so I'm very glad I got to try this batch. Great for relaxation, stress relief (not anxiety due to quick onset), and sore muscles. Great midday to nighttime strain.
One look at this Pre '98 Bubba and I knew I had to get it. I've always been a fan of this strain, so I like to try it whenever I see it. This batch is definitely something that should be checked out, since it's a great example of the cut. It's nice to see a spot like Locals Choice open up with great strains.
