CanniCorner: Alien Dog (Chemdawg '91 x Alien Tech)

AROMA: The smell of this strain is definitely missing pungency, but what it lacks in that department is makes up for in aromatic characteristics. It has a sweet, almost cherry-like, essence that is coupled by a slight lemony side. After grinding up some nugs the scent is released more, but still lacks a bit of pungency. I've never had the pleasure of medicating with just Alien Tech, so I'm guessing the cherry-like essence comes from that. Regardless of what it lacks in pungency it makes up for in a pleasant aroma.

TASTE: The flavor of this strain is stronger than the aroma, and is a characteristic that is 3 for 3 with Ricochet's meds. The thick and creamy smoke initially blast the taste buds with a sour lemon diesel flavor that slowly dissipates into a sweet cherry-like taste. The aftertaste is overpowered by the sweet flavor, and it lingers in the nose and on the taste buds. It's a great tasting strain with a unique flavor, and I'm actually glad I was able to try it.

LOOK: Popcorn nug structure with light green nugs, and long dark orange hairs; the most obvious characteristic to the strain are the trichomes. The number of insanely bulbous capped and cloudy trichomes is absolutely ridiculous, and I could not find a single clear cap on any of the nugs (while looking through a K indscope). There are sections on the nugs that are completely covered in trichs, and no green can be seen underneath. The look is definitely the attribute that got me to grab the strain.

EFFECTS: Quick onset high that hits hard, and escalates quickly to a relatively intense level. It plateaus at a relaxing level, but the high dissipates rather quickly (a little too quickly to be honest). It leaves a cerebral and euphoric kick once the intensity wears off. The quick onset and intensity are definitely not good for anxiety, but are still good for stress relief. Once the high plateaus it has a calming and mind clearing effect. My only complaint would be the length of the high, or lack thereof. Good for stress relief, relaxation, and appetite gain. Great daytime strain.

In 100% complete honesty, regardless of how it looked and smelled, I was apprehensive about this Alien Dog. During my trip to Ricochet I requested to be shown only Loompa Farms strains, and was recommended this Alien Dog. Unfortunately the budtender made an honest mistake and told me this was from there (it is not), so I had my reservations from the start. However, having said all of that, I'm glad the budtender made the mistake, as this strain showcases Ricochet's non-Loompa Farms quality. It doesn't add up to the Loompa strains, in my book, but it is definitely a potent medication.
