AROMA: There is a deep earthy pine scent to this that is accented with an interesting ground coffee like essence. Surprisingly, considering the amount of purple in the calyxes, there is no "purp" smell to it. The pungency with the strain becomes very strong when nugs are ground up, and the coffee ground essence becomes much more prevalent. There is also a slight spice-like scent to the aroma, after being ground, that is missing from the nugs themselves.
TASTE: The pine disappears from the flavor almost entirely, and the slight spice from the aroma becomes very apparent on the taste buds. Along with spice, the flavor of ground coffee resonates on the tongue and in the sinuses. As with the smell, there is very little "purp" flavor to the taste, which is even more surprising considering the amount of pruple in the strain. The aftertaste to the strain is a nice mixture between coffee and spice, and lingers on the tongue for a long time.
LOOK: Popcorn (very large popcorn) nug formation with hunter green nugs, the extremely swollen calyxes almost completely cover the short, but thick, copper colored hairs. There is violet streaking out into the calyxes, and a purple hue to the sugar leaves (which are a little long). The trichomes are probably one of the more attractive characteristics of the strain, as they completely cover the calyxes. The long stalks are topped with bulbous caps, with a good amount of them being a rich amber. Looking straight down on top of the crown of the nug makes it look like a blooming flower.
EFFECT: The K has a nice indica dom that hits gradually right at the back of the neck, and slowly spreads to the rest of the body. It leaves the body in a relaxed state without becoming too intense. Great medicinal qualities for anyone looking for pain relief without feeling lethargic afterwards. There is pressure at the top of the eyes which makes the lids heavy, and a slight cerebral kick that leaves one feeling carefree. The effects aren't that "stoney", and lean more on the medicinal side. Good for pain relief, stress relief (possibly anxiety due to the gradual onset), and sleep aid. Great nighttime strain.
The K is named simply that, K. The genetics were kept a secret, and the single letter moniker adds to the mystery. Regardless of what the genetics are, the K has great medicinal qualities that would do well for a lot of ailments. It seems as though the amount of CBD's is relatively high. It's a good indica dominant strain that should be checked out for people looking for medicinal qualities.
