AROMA: The Bubba scent to this strain is particularly strong, with a deep earthy pine & ground coffee aroma. There is a slight "purp" scent undertone when you take a deep inhale, with the ground coffee essence lingering in the sinuses. It is a great smelling Bubba Kush that becomes more pungent once nugs are ground up.
TASTE: The thick and creamy smoke immediately give off a muted flavor, at first, but is then immediately replaced with a sharp ground coffee flavor on the tongue. There is also a very unique vino-like sharpness hidden within the initial blast of flavor. After a hit is exhaled the deep earthy pine essence buries itself deep within the nostrils and lingers for a bit.
LOOK: Hunter green nugs with streaks of purple shooting out of the stem into the calyxes, the dark, almost copper, colored hairs are accentuated by the abundance of trichomes. Under a microscope the trichome structure is attractive, with long stalks and bulbous caps, which give the nugs an extremely frosty look. It is a great looking cut of Bubba Kush coming out of CCC.
EFFECTS: The effects of this Mother Bubba are almost strictly medicinal, at least for me, as it is one of the heavier straight indica Bubbas I've ever had. It isn't the "stoniest" high there is, but since I woke up with severe pain in my lower back I wasn't looking for that. After one bowl of the Mother Bubba the pain slowly dissipated, and after two bowls the pain was completely gone. There is a slight cerebral kick, but little to no pressure on the eyes. The heavy indica high isn't a couch lock effect, but more of a general, full body, relaxed feel. Good for stress relief, anxiety, and pain relief (good for sleep aid at night too). Great anytime strain for people looking for pain relief, and great nighttime strain for those looking to wind down after a long day.
I was told that this Mother Bubba comes from a Bubba Kush pheno that is over a decade old, and has been kept pure since then. It would be impossible for me to confirm this, but there are certain similarities between this cut and Pre '98 Bubba (a 15 year old pheno). Regardless of its origins, this Mother Bubba is a heavy indica Bubba that has great medicinal qualities.
