CanniCorner: Butterscotch Skunk (Durban x Hillbilly)

AROMA: This strain has a very unique scent to it, as it is an interesting mix of the sour Durban smell with a skunky undertone. There is a very slight purp scent to it, which gives it a very earthy essence to it once ground up. In all honesty it doesn't really smell much like butterscotch, but I am not too familiar with that smell to begin with. It's an interesting smelling strain though.

TASTE: Extremely thick and creamy smoke, the flavor actually mixes all the scents together extremely well. It at first hits with the Durban sour which is overwhelmed by a purp flavor, the skunk becomes apparent in the sinuses. The earthiness to the flavor is apparent in all stages; from inhale to exhale, and leaves a pleasant aftertaste on the tongue.

LOOK: Frosty dark green nugs almost completely surrounded by bright orange hairs, this strain may not be the most attractive at CCC, but has its redeeming qualities. The trichome structure is fantastic, as they encompass almost all of the nugs. They actually give the nugs an appearance of a much lighter shade of green than they actually are. Anyone that loves long & thick pistils will really dig this strain.

EFFECTS: This is the first strain from CCC that gave me an instant head change. There is great lung expansion, so it made me cough a few times. In doing so, my face, and even ears, became flush. As I said before, it's an instant head change, that gradually levels out to a very relaxing high. It was actually a bit surprising, because the high was very intense at first, dropped to a relaxed level, and then slowly began to rise to very stoney high. There's heavy pressure on the eyes, but definitely not too much. This is probably not a good strain for anxiety, because, for me, it has an extremely quick onset high. The level it plateaus at is very relaxing though, so it just depends on how your body reacts to cannabis. Great for stress relief, but didn't do much for my back pain at all.

This Butterscotch Skunk is not a descendant of Butterscotch Hawaiian. It is an exclusive strain to CCC comprised of their Durban (Durban Poison x Rhino) and Hillbilly (Mother Kush x Ruderalis), which are exclusive strains to CCC themselves. The fact that it has a ruderalis cross in it is awesome to me, because no one, and I mean no one, does that due to reduced yield and potency. It's always a treat to try exclusive strains, because every great grower has their own secret tricks of the trade. CCC definitely has tricks up their sleeve, and luckily they use them to provide quality meds.
