Platinum (Mystery Genetics)

Indica Dominant Hybrid

AROMA:  There is a very earthy pine smell with a citrus skunk twist, so I'm going to associate that with what I'm guessing is one of the crosses (Master Kush).  There is also a sour twist to it.  If I had to guess, based on smell alone, I would think it's a Master Kush x Sour Diesel cross.   The earthy pine smell overpowers the skunk twist though.  It's a great smelling strain that smells like a unique, what I think is, Master Kush.

TASTE:  This strain smokes very well and has a very piney flavor to it.  The citrus skunk twist almost disappears from the taste, but interestingly arises in the nostrils upon exhale.  I absolutely love the taste of this strain, but I do favor Master & Bubba Kush over most.  There is a strange, for lack of a better word, zest to the savory flavor.  It's definitely unique.

LOOK:  Light green nugs with dark green (with some purple) leaves, the hairs are copper in color which accent the overall look nicely.  The trichomes are absolutely ridiculous on this, and make the nugs glimmer at most angles.  It looks abnormally shiny...like parts of the nugs were coated in a thin layer of honey.  They aren't though...they're just trichs.

EFFECTS:  The onset of the high is very quick, not quite an instant head changer but very close.  It has a similar head high to Headband (OG Kush x Sour D), as it settles along the brow, temples, and back of the head.  However, there are much heavier indica effects to this strain than Headband, as it has an almost sedative body high.  There's an interesting balance though, because it made me want to just relax (aka do absolutely nothing) and get stuff done (like this review) at the same time.  Good for mild pain relief (sore muscles), stress relief, but the quick onset may not good for anxiety.  Great midday to nighttime strain.

Mystery strains always intrigue me, especially with a minimalistic name like "Platinum".  This simple name from such great growers tells me, in my opinion, that it doesn't need anything else.  In the end, knowing the crosses isn't a high priority for us, because, regardless of that fact, this is another great strain from these genetics genies.  I will admit that I enjoy guessing though!
