Purple Magic (Mystery Genetics)

Indica
Golden State Patients Association
Price: $45 per 1/8th

AROMA:  Fruity Pebbles.  This strain smells like Fruity Pebbles, which is a surprising twist considering it's deep purple calyxes.  It has a very intense fruity scent with a hint of the "purp" smell.  It's a very aromatic strain, as it seems like a scent that even non-cannabis smokers could enjoy.

TASTE:  The extra fruity scent kind of disappears in the flavor, but it's still there.  The purp sensation overcomes the fruity flavor, with a deep earthy undertone.  Personally, as a someone that isn't the biggest purple strain fan, I think this is a great tasting strain.  The fruity side gives it a nice balance, and it is surprisingly smooth.  It had decent lung expansion, but didn't make me cough at all.

LOOK:  As I said before, I'm not the biggest fan of purple strains, but this is definitely an attractive one.  Deep purple calyxes surrounded by light green accentuate the bright orange hairs.  The nugs look airy and a bit fluffy, but they grind up into a shocking amount.  A small nug that I thought would grind up into two personal bowls ended up becoming twice that.

EFFECTS:  There is a very gradual onset to this high, as it slowly spreads from the chest to the rest of the body.  It puts nice pressure on the back of the eyes as it relaxes the muscles.  It's a great strain for pain relief, as my sore muscles were alleviated within a minute or two, and does well for sleep aid.  It's not an intense high, but is quite relaxing.  Good nighttime strain.

My personal opinions against purple strains may have lowered my expectations here, but I missed out on GSPA's last purple batch.  I was pleasantly surprised by its effects, as it had an almost narcotic sensation for my muscles.  This is definitely a strain to check out, especially if you are a fan of the "purps".
