CanniCorner: Jack Herer (Secret Haze x Red Skunk)

AROMA: This batch of Jack Herer has the classic Jack smell to it. There is a deep earthy pine scent coupled with a skunky undertone. There is also a very sweet side to it that takes hold of the sinuses with every deep inhale. It's a very pungent batch of Jack, and smells fantastic.

TASTE: Extremely thick and creamy smoke that leaves full flavor on the lips and tongue. The earthy pine takes over initially, but then the skunk takes over in the aftertaste. There is also a slight soothing burn in the nostrils upon exhale. The sweet flavor lingers on the tongue long after too.

LOOK: This also has the classic Jack Herrer nug structure with long nugs and swollen grape like calyxes. The dark green nugs are caked in trichomes that give it a much lighter color in appearance, and the dark orange hairs accent the trichs. It's an attractive batch of Jack Herrer, especially since there were some really good looking colas in the jar.

EFFECTS: This has a relatively fast onset, but not instant by any means. There is a heavy cerebral kick to it right away that slowly turns into a mellow buzz. The cerebral buzz interestingly has very little pressure on the eyes, but produces a nice uplifting euphoric feeling. The indica side put the body into a very relaxed state. Great strain for anxiety, stress relief, migraines, and, apparently, fibromyalgia. Great anytime strain, except maybe right before bed.

I recently read an article while waiting in the lobby of a collective, I think it was High Times, about Jack Herer. It said that after getting Jack Herer from 5 different collectives, only 3 of them were really Jack. Having said that, as far as my knowledge goes, this is a legitimate cut, and a potent one at that. Supposedly Herer's goal was to keep the potent sativa property of Haze while shortening the ridiculously long 6 months of flowering. Winner of the Cannabis Cup in 1995, this strain from GSPA should be checked out.
