Sativa Dominant Hybrid

AROMA: There is a very deep pine scent to this with a twist of skunk. There is an earthiness to it from the nug that makes it smell like a forest after a cleansing rain. After being ground up the smell gets extremely pungent, and the twist of skunk becomes very apparent. It's a great smelling NL, and made my car stink rather quickly.
TASTE: The deep pine scent is very obvious in the flavor, and the earthiness gives it a full aftertaste. It has a taste similar to hash that leaves a soothing burn in the sinuses upon . The strain doesn't smoke as well as I thought, but has a more pungent flavor than expected.
LOOK: Light green nugs surrounded by darker shaded leaves that are accentuated by hairs with a copper hue. There are ridiculous amounts of trichomes surrounding every piece of every nug. Under a Kindscope the trichomes are mostly opaque with bulbous caps on the stalks. The manicure could have been done a bit better, since there are a few leaves here and there, but not a huge deal.
EFFECTS: Labeled a Sativa, this has hybrid effects for me personally, but definitely heavy on the sativa side. There is good lung expansion that causes a few chest clearing coughs that cause the face to get flush. There is a nice full body effect that puts one in a state of relaxation with a nice cerebral/euphoric kick. The slight pressure on the eyes is perfect for daytime smoke. The gradual onset of this is good for stress relief, relaxation, and possibly anxiety. Great daytime to midday strain.
The origins of Northern Lights is shrouded in mystery and unconfirmed anecdotes, but the majority of them state it has Afghani origins (explains the hash like taste and resinous nugs). There are also eleven different types of Northern Lights, #5 being the most popular/best one. This is a great batch out of GSPA, and should be checked out by any fans out of the "old school" strains.
