AfPak (Afghani Landrace x Pakistani Landrace)

Indica
Anaheim Patient Group
Price: $35 per 1/8th (Promo Deal/$50 regular)

AROMA:  There is an earthy side to this scent that is a bit musky with hints of chocolate. The smell is a bit muted, even after the nugs are ground up, but once they are there is a skunky essence that comes through. It isn't the most pungent strain there is, but does have a classic AfPak scent to it.

TASTE:  The smoke is surprisingly creamy considering that it isn't all that thick. The flavor of the strain is much stronger than the smell suggests, with an extremely earthy pine flavor with bitter, dark chocolate-like undertones. The earthiness is almost gritty with a hash-like essence, with the grittiness most apparent in the aftertaste, which is classic of Afghani crossed strains.

LOOK:  The look is what drew me to the strain, as it has an attractive look. Popcorn shaped nugs with light green nugs, there are shades of purple throughout some of the calyxes and leaves. The trichome structure is the most appealing aspect, as there are a good amount of capped (and very bulbous) trichomes. They give it a frosty appearance that accent the purple streaks throughout the nugs.

EFFECTS:  There is a very gradual onset with the high, that take about 15 minutes to fully kick in. It leaves the body relaxed with light pressure at the back of the eyes, and does well for pain relief. As the high takes effect it eventually causes the eyes, and even the entire head, to get heavy. Good for pain relief, sleep aid, and appetite gain. Great nighttime strain.

Anaheim Patient Group is brand new (look for their review in the Orange County section), and deliver with a good batch of a classic strain. AfPak is a heavy indica that has delivers medicinal qualities with its effective body high, and it is nice to see a brand new spot deliver with it. Definitely something that should be on the radar if you visit them.
