AROMA: This is a good smelling J1 with more of a sweeter skunk side to it than the fruitiness from the Jack. There is also an interestingly earthy pine side to the aroma that pushes through when you take a strong inhale of it. It has a decently pungent aroma to it that is apparent from both the nug, and after being ground up. In completely honestly it isn't the strongest smelling J1 I've come across, but it is still a great smell and the reason I got it.
TASTE: The earthy pine in the scent becomes extremely prevalent at first that completely engulfs the taste buds. The flavor then slowly dissipates into a nice sweet, almost citrus-like, aftertaste. The sinuses also become filled with a similar "aftersmell". The smoke is heavily thick and creamy, which is why the taste of the strain is so prominent, but is still very smooth with only a bit of lung expansion.
LOOK: OK...I have to be completely honest here. The look of this J1 may keep you from picking it up. The nugs are a little bit airy, a bit leafy, and don't look that frosty...however, under a kindscope you see why it's on the shelves at GSPA. Almost all of the trichome caps are opaque, and a large amount of them are amber to perfection. The peach colored pistils seem to flatten to look of the darker trichs, so it doesn't give it the most appealing look.
EFFECTS: The look of the strain may have lowered my expectations, but this is a potent J1 for medicinal purposes. Gradual onset high that levels off at a consistent, and relaxing level. The cerebral aspect of the high seems to make everything (time, body, mind, etc.) move just a tiny bit slower, and leaves one in a euphoric state of bliss. Great for anyone that likes to medicate and meditate. The body high is concentrated mainly around the chest, but does expand towards the hands and feet. The pressure at the top of the eyes is pleasant and seems to feel even better when I smile. Great for stress relief, anxiety relief, minor pain relief, and, though I do not suffer from it, possibly depression. Great anytime strain.
This J1 put me through a mini roller coaster. Its stock went up with the smell, down with the look (back up when I saw the trichomes though), and then way up with the effects. It isn't the "stoniest" of J1's I've tried, but it is one of the better medicinal J1's I've had. The effects last for a relatively long time too, which is another great medicinal quality. All in all, if you're looking for that type of strain this is one to check out.
