CanniCorner: Pre '98 Grapefruit (Northern Lights #1 x Skunk #1 x Afghani)

AROMA: The scent of this strain is almost exactly like grapefruits with an earthy hash-like twist. The sour nature to the scent becomes incredibly pungent once nugs are ground up, and smells even more like grapefruits. The smell of the strain is absolutely ridiculous, and something that has to be inhaled if you've never seen this strain before.

TASTE: The grapefruit essence in the aroma becomes a bit lost in the flavor, but is replaced with a heavy skunk, yet sweet, hash taste. The milky smoke causes a bit of lung contraction, and an extremely soothing and long lasting burn in the sinuses. It is truly surprising how much the flavor resembles a heavy hash like Afghani, considering how fruity the smell is. It's a great tasting Grapefruit strain, and definitely great that it is a pre '98 pheno.

LOOK: Light green nugs with darker shaded leaves, the peach colored pistils are almost hidden from the abundance of trichomes. The manicure could have been done a little tighter, but nothing to complain about. The trichomes have a ridiculous amount of cloudy bulbs, and only a few clear heads here and there. The opaqueness and number of trichomes give the nugs a very frosty look.

EFFECTS: Bold sativa kick with a quick onset, it puts nice pressure on the top of the eyes and gives an energizing feeling at first. The sativa effects get heavier over time though, and leaves one in a carefree euphoric state. There is a slight indica side that makes the body relaxed, but only enough to loosen tight muscles. The majority of the high is concentrated at the back of the eyes, head, and neck. The carefree euphoric state is relatively long lasting. Good for stress relief, possibly anxiety, and relaxation. Great daytime strain.

I'm very glad that Grapefruit hit the shelves at GSPA, as the only other great Grapefruit I've had is in the San Fernando Valley. It is interesting that it is Pre '98, indicating that the pheno is from or before that year, and has been kept intact. Great sativa, and a strain that should definitely be seen by those that haven't already...and even by those that have!
