AROMA: There is quite an aromatic scent to this strain that is reminiscent of flowers, coupled with interesting earthy pine and hash-like undertones. Anyone that knows Champagne knows that the scent of the strain isn't the most pungent there is, but it is definitely unique in itself. Once nugs are ground up the smell becomes stronger, but by only a small margin. All in all the scent of this strain takes me back quite a few years to the days where Champagne was a staple among collectives.
TASTE: The flavor of the strain proved, at least to me, that this is a legitimate cut of Champagne, as it has the distinct earthy pine hash essence to it. It also has an interesting bite to the flavor that is a little bit like white wine. The hash-like essence becomes very apparent in the aftertaste, and burns the sinuses a bit. It's a great tasting Champagne, and its flavor lived up to my expectations.
LOOK: The look of this Champagne, in all honesty, kept me from getting it my first trip to APG. The nugs are very airy/fluffy, and the gram that I got looked like much more. However, the light green coloring, along with the peach colored pistils, give the strain a frosty look due to the abundance of trichomes. It's still an attractive strain in itself, but not the best looking Champagne I've seen. It definitely needs a closer look though.
EFFECTS: Great hybrid with the perfect amount of both indica and sativa, it truly feels like a pure 50/50. The indica effects almost instantaneously put sore/tense muscles into a relaxed state, and the gradual cerebral high kicks in after a few minutes. The cerebral high gives off a nice euphoric kick with minimal pressure on the eyes, and is mind-clearing. It is indubitably a great strain to use if you need to get things done, and still want to be medicated. Good for stress relief, anxiety, and mild pain relief. Great daytime to midday strain.
I was definitely surprised by this Champagne, and I even told the BT that I was worried that it might not live up to expectations. I haven't had a good batch of this in years...and I mean closer to a decade than not. This particular batch from APG didn't exceed my expectations, but it definitely met them well enough. It's a great hybrid, and one that should be checked out.
