AROMA: The smell of this strain is almost exactly like SAGE (Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium), with an earthy pine twist to it. The scent resembles a subtle potpourri, and, though it is missing a pungent nature, has an aromatic nature to it that is very pleasant. The nature of the smell is also a lot like a flower, with the smell being subtle until it hits deep within the sinuses. It's a pleasant and unique smelling strain, but nothing like other strains out of CCC.
TASTE: The flavor of this strain also almost entirely resembles SAGE, with an earthy pine lemon twist (which is interesting because there was no citrus in the smell). The flavor resembles herbs and spices as soon as the thick smoke touches the tongue, and the aftertaste is heavy with the earthy pine lemon. There is also a twist to the aftertaste that I can't quite put my finger on...
LOOK: The looks of this strain is absolutely amazing... The popcorn shaped nugs are light green, with bright orange hairs shooting out of the swollen calyxes. The trichomes cake the nugs completely, and even look like there are trichs on top of trichs. There is a mix between clear and cloudy caps on the trich heads, which give it an extremely frosty look. Great looking strain, and already in my top 10 favorite looking ones.
EFFECTS: There is an interesting balance to the effects of this strain, that have an extremely calming effect. The gradual onset high takes about 5 minutes to fully kick in, and leaves one feeling completely relaxed both physically and mentally. The indica effects relax the body, but the sativa effects keep the mind clear. It does great for back pain, and possibly great for headaches (due to the gradual onset high and lack of pressure on the eyes/temple). Good for pain relief, stress relief, possibly anxiety, and headaches/migraines. Good daytime to midday strain.
This Rhino is 18+ years old, according to CCC (which I believe), and its genetics are shrouded in mystery. If I had to guess I would say it is a Sage cross, because of how much it smells and tastes like it. I had a headache before medicating with it, and two bowls got rid of it within minutes. The "stoney" side isn't very strong, but this is a great strain for anyone looking to relieve chronic pain or headaches/migraines with a good daytime smoke.
