CanniCorner: Super Skunk (Skunk Strains x Afghani Ancestors)

AROMA: The moniker is a bit misleading, as the aroma of this strain from the nug is not that much like skunk. It has more of a sweet citrus scent to it that reminds me of tangerines. Once nugs are ground up the smell gets amplified by quite a bit, and a bit of a skunk scent is released. It is a great smelling strain with a distinct citrus pungency to it that sting the sinuses with a deep inhale.

TASTE: Interestingly enough there is an earthy pine side to the flavor that is missing from the aroma, coupled with a much more apparent skunk flavor. The sweet citrus side takes a back seat to the skunk and pine, but is still apparent on the taste buds. The aftertaste is quite pleasant and leaves both a sweet skunk flavor on the taste buds. The taste of the strain really is the one my new favorite tasting strains of all time. GREAT tasting strain, and an excellent cut of Super Skunk.

LOOK: Popcorn nug structure with light green nugs, and long, bright orange pistils that shoot in almost every direction. The trichomes on this strain are out of this world, as the long stalks are topped by extremely bulbous caps. The nugs have a shiny look at most angles of light, and have an absolutely frosty look to them. The nugs are also a lot more dense than they appear, even though they are a little on the small side. Great looking cut of Super Skunk.

EFFECTS: The hybrid properties of this Super Skunk are both beyond heavy, as the indica side puts the body into a semi-couch lock, and the sativa side kicks in a carefree euphoric side. Pressure at the back of the eyes cause the lids to become heavy, and a light glaze over them. It becomes extremely easy to both zone out or to get up and go, which gives this potent hybrid a great quality. The medicinal qualities lean more towards the sativa side giving a stress relieving sensation, with the indica side leaning towards relaxation. Good for stress relief, anxiety, and mild pain relief. Great daytime to midday strain.

Super Skunk is a potent strain that has a bit of mystery with its roots. There are different variations, but they all include Skunk strains crossed with Afghani ancestors. Super Skunk was created in hopes of making an improved Skunk #1, and it was achieved with its own unique characteristics. This potent cut from GSPA was definitely a treat to try.
