AROMA: There is a sweet and fruity citrus scent to this strain, which isn't all too surprising considering this is the sativa cut of the strain. There is also a pungent pine smell to the strain when you pull apart the nugs, and once nugs are ground up the scent becomes a pungent combination of citrus and pine. It is a unique smelling strain that has a pungent kick to it that hits directly in the sinuses.
TASTE: The thick and creamy smoke give full flavor immediately on the taste buds with a burst of pine and citrus, with the citrus hitting first and the pine lingering in the aftertaste. There is a soothing burn in the sinuses which leaves the pine essence in them that overpowers the aftertaste. The pine essence is the strongest aspect of the taste, which is surprising considering the aroma has a much sweeter citrus side to it.
LOOK: The pictures give the trichomes a great look, but definitely do not do the nugs themselves justice. Popcorn nug structure with light green nugs, and darker shaded leaves, the nugs are actually much tighter than the pictures show. The trichomes are definitely the most attractive part of the strain, as they are extremely thick and bulbous with an amber tint to them. The abundance of trichomes give the strain a sparkly appearance in most angles of light, so the strain needs a closer look to see its true colors.
EFFECTS: Gradual onset high with a potent sativa kick, the effects have an extremely relaxing sensation both in the body and in the head. The cerebral side to the high has a euphoric kick that causes smiles for no reason, and a hearty laugh here and there. It also has a calming effect over time that leaves the mind clear and carefree. It is a potent sativa that almost made me forget about the dismal days for CA MMJ ahead, which is saying a lot. Great for stress relief, possibly anxiety, appetite gain, and relaxation. Good daytime to midday strain.
Apollo 13, a combination of Genius and P75 (both with Jack Herer roots), is a potent sativa with great medicinal qualities, and with its roots in Jack Herer that is no surprise. This particular batch from GSPA is definitely much stronger than expected with a heavy sativa kick.
