AROMA: From the nugs themselves there is a deep pine aroma with a slight lemon diesel undertone. Once nugs are ground up the lemon diesel side becomes more apparent, and the deep pine aroma takes a back seat. The smell is a bit muted, as it lacks a bit of pungency, but what it lacks in that department it has in pleasantness. It is still a great smelling OG regardless of it's missing pungency.
TASTE: The flavor is much stronger than the muted aroma suggests, as a strong lemon diesel flavor shines through. The thick and creamy smoke has decent lung expansion, causing a few chest clearing coughs, and gives full flavor from start to finish. The pine side to the flavor doesn't hit until the aftertaste, which lingers on the taste buds and in the sinuses. The flavor is definitely better than the smell suggests.
LOOK: Light green nugs with popcorn nug structure, the plump and swollen calyxes almost hide the bright orange pistils. The trichomes are all cloudy, and absolutely cake almost every single square millimeter of the nugs. The trichomes themselves are all cloudy and have an amber tint, and the majority of them are capped. The manicure job is done well with the sugar leaves tight to the nugs. It has a classic OG frosty look that has a lot of bag appeal.
EFFECTS: Relatively quick onset with a heavy indica effect, it has a very relaxing sensation throughout the entire body. There is only a very subtle cerebral kick that puts light pressure at the back of the eyes, and keeps the mind awake. The indica effects have a slight couch-lock and calming sensation. Good for pain relief, relaxation, stress relief, appetite gain, and sleep aid (in higher doses). Great midday to nighttime strain.
The genetics of this Rare OG are a mystery, but from all appearances it is simply a good cut of OG. The smell is a bit muted and lacking in some areas, but the look, flavor, and effects all match a classic OG. Regardless of the genetics this strain is a good OG cut with a hefty indica side.
